For 125 years, ASOR has supported research on the cultures and history of the Near East and wider Mediterranean—funding fieldwork, mentoring emerging scholars, publishing rigorous scholarship, and helping safeguard cultural heritage in regions where it is most at risk. Membership and subscription revenue cover only 20% of ASOR’s annual budget; donors fund the rest. Choose where you would like your gift to go below, or give to the area of greatest need.

Giving stock
Click here for the stock donation form. By transferring stock that has increased in value and has been held for more than one year, you may avoid capital gains tax while also receiving a charitable deduction for the full fair market value of the gift. Contact ASOR Executive Director Andy Vaughn (703-789-9232) with any questions and to let him know that you have made a transfer.
Giving property or other assets
In some cases (but not all), ASOR may be able to accept real property, tangible personal property, or restricted stock. Please contact ASOR Executive Director Andy Vaughn for more information. All non-routine gifts must be approved in advance by the Finance Committee.
Monthly giving program
You can now support ASOR by using the monthly giving function on the ASOR donation form to send monthly donations throughout the year. This system allows you to specify the amount with which you feel most comfortable for each monthly payment, and if you are using a credit card, you can include the processing fee as part of your gift. Each month, the ASOR system sends a reminder that you have an upcoming payment so there are no surprises.

Employer matching gifts
Many employers offer matching gift programs that can double—or even triple—the impact of your donation to ASOR. We encourage you to check with your HR Department to see if your company participates.
ASOR is happy to provide any required documentation to help facilitate your matching gift request.
Participating in our airline program
If you are an ASOR employee or Board Member, you may contribute by listing ASOR’s account number in Delta’s SkyBonus program. This is in addition to any miles that you receive an individual, and it will not reduce your miles or credits. Please do NOT use this SkyBonus number if you are not an ASOR employee or Board Member.
