2026 ANNUAL MEETING SCHEDULES
ASOR’s 2026 Annual Meeting will take place November 18–21 at the Hilton Chicago and online via Zoom.
The 2026 Annual Meeting begins on Wednesday, November 18th. The ASOR registration desks will be open from 2:00-8:30pm for in-person attendees to pick up their name badges. The Exhibit Hall will open at 4:00pm. ASOR’s President and Executive Director will open the Annual Meeting at 7:00pm and Kim Benzel, Curator in Charge of The Metropolitan Museum of Art, will give the Plenary Address.
Academic Sessions and Workshops will be held at the Hilton Chicago and via Zoom on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 8:15am to 6:30pm CST.
Corrections and Changes
Program Presenters: After April 1 it will not be possible to edit abstracts in the Online Platform. Please fill out this brief Abstract Changes and Corrections Form to make any necessary corrections or changes to your presentation title, abstract, presentation format, affiliation, or co-authors.
Presentation Materials Due November 9
- Virtual Presenters: Submit a pre-recorded MP4 video (20 minutes max). Presenters are expected to join their session live via Zoom for discussion after their recording is played.
- In-Person Presenters (Chicago): Submit presentation slides (PPT or PDF) by this date; no video is required. Maximum file size of 1GB
A note about Workshops: Workshops are designated by the word “Workshop” in parentheses. Workshop format varies to allow for panels, activity, collaboration, or discussion. As such, workshop presentations (if any) are limited to 10 minutes (maximum). If you are participating in a workshop, check with the organizers before preparing your brief presentation. Virtual workshop presentations do not need to be recorded in advance unless requested by the organizers.
November 9 is the deadline to upload your presentation materials by logging into the ASOR Online Portal and navigating to the 2026 ASOR Annual Meeting – Presenter Information Page here. From there, you will find instructions and the Dropbox link, as well as tips and tutorials for presenters.
Note: Recorded video presentations for Student Paper Award applications and Poster PDF files are due by November 4.

ASOR Annual Meeting Mobile App (Coming Soon)
ASOR is pleased to provide the 2026 Annual Meeting Mobile App as the primary way for registered attendees to follow along with the academic program, view abstracts, create a personal schedule, network with attendees, and get the latest Annual Meeting notifications. Registered meeting attendees will get an e-mail with information and can find instructions for downloading the app in the ASOR Online Portal under the 2026 Annual Meeting / Presenter Information Tab.
Online Program and Virtual Attendees
Registered attendees can view the Online Academic Program and attend any session/workshop via Zoom using the ASOR Online Schedule. Please note you will need to login into the ASOR Portal prior to accessing the Schedule. Links to join the meeting will not be posted until closer to the conference. - Seal Carving Workshop – Thursday, November 19, 2026
A free workshop for ASOR attendees hosted by Dr. Pinar Durgun (The Morgan Museum & Library) during the lunch break from 12:55-1:55pm at the Hilton Chicago, Room 4A. In this workshop attendees will shape and carve stones into cylinder seals inspired by the Morgan Library and Museum seal collection using ancient techniques. Space is limited and advance sign-up is required. Learn more about the seal carving workshop here. Registration for the workshop is now full. Please email programs@asor.org to be added to the wait-list. - Early Career Scholars’ Reception – Friday, November 20, 2026
Early Career Scholars are invited to attend a reception from 8:00-10:00pm at Off the Common in the lobby of the Hilton Boston Park Plaza. There is not cost to attend, but advance sign-up is required - ISAC Museum Reception – Saturday, November 21, 2026
After the sessions end on Saturday night, there will be a reception for ASOR attendees at the ISAC Museum. More information and sign-up coming soon.
