ASOR ANNUAL MEETING

2023 ANNUAL MEETING HIGHLIGHTS

ASOR Annual Meeting attendees will be treated to a full academic program with more than 130 sessions and more than 600 presentations on our first-ever hybrid program. The Program-at-Glance can be found on the 2023 Annual Meeting Schedules page.

There are a number of special events and meeting highlights for those of you who will be attending the meeting in Chicago. All meetings and functions will take place at the Hilton Chicago (720 South Michigan Avenue) except for those at the Field Museum and the ISAC Museum when noted.

Highlight: ASOR Annual Meeting attendees will receive complimentary general admission to the Field Museum with their ASOR name-badge from Wednesday, Nov. 15 – Tuesday, Nov. 21.

Wednesday, November 15

Lecture and First Kings Exhibit Walk-through (Ward Hall, The Field Museum) 
Free for ASOR Annual Meeting attendees with your name-badge.  Advance sign-up is required as space is limited in the lecture hall. Learn more and sign up here.

ASOR Annual Meeting Plenary Address (Grand Ballroom, 2nd Floor)
Dr. Rubina Raja (Aarhus University and director of the Danish National Research Foundation’s Centre of Excellence for Urban Network Evolutions) will present, “Death by Data? Or What Has a Decade of Research on Palmyrene Funerary Sculpture Taught Us about the Ancient World?” Also available online for virtual attendees. Learn more here.

ASOR Poster Session (Grand Ballroom Foyer, 2nd Floor)
Visit the ASOR Poster Hall throughout the Annual Meeting to see all of the research projects being presented, and come to the Poster Session on Saturday to talk with the presenters and ask questions.

Initiative on the Status of Women in ASOR: Mentoring Lunch (Boulevard, 2nd Floor)
