Call for Early Career Scholars Committee Members: Community and Networking Team
The Early Career Scholars Committee (ECS) is looking for new members for our Community and Networking team for the upcoming academic year. We are especially interested in applications from people who represent diversity in the field and/or scholars currently working in research that is underrepresented at ASOR. If you wish to be considered by the committee, please fill out the application form below. We will begin reviewing applications on May 1, 2023, and will continue consideration throughout the summer.
PURPOSE:
The “Community and Networking” sub-committee focuses on fostering inclusivity of Early Career Scholars across ASOR. The committee is responsible for creating a welcoming community space for students and early career researchers to come together, socialize, network, exchange ideas and information, and built connectivity across all ASOR disciplines.
FUNCTIONS:
Organize online, virtual events to grow the ASOR ECS community such as coffee hours and book clubs.
Plan and host the Early Career Scholars reception and city outings at the annual meeting.
Maintain and expand the existing ASOR ECS social media channels on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
COMMITMENT:
This committee would entail one hour-long meeting and three hours of service per month.
