ASOR ANNUAL MEETING

2022 In-person/Boston Annual Meeting

All of us at ASOR are looking forward to welcoming more than 800 attendees to Boston for the in-person component of ASOR’s 2022 Annual Meeting, November 16-20.

If you haven’t made your hotel reservation yet, the Boston Park Plaza has added a limited number of rooms to ASOR’s discounted room block. Make your reservation online by November 6.

Schedule

The ASOR Registration tables and Help Desk will be open extended hours from 12:00pm to 8:30pm EST on Wednesday, November 16 in order to avoid a rush before the Plenary Address. Stop by the tables, located on the 2nd floor Mezzanine, at your convenience during the day to say hello, pick up your name-badge, and get a tote-bag. The exhibit tables will open at 4:00pm and the Plenary Address by Dr. Solange Ashby begins at 7:00pm in Grand Ballroom A.

Use ASOR’s 2022 Academic Program to find the sessions and presentations you want to attend and sign-in to bookmark sessions and network with attendees. If you haven’t already signed-in to the online program (powered by Oxford Abstracts) you can create a free account to use the Chat tool for individual and group messages. The Oxford Abstracts program will replace the mobile app this year.

Visit the 2022 Annual Meeting Schedules page for updates and to find the 2022 Schedule of Business Meetings & Events.

Masks

ASOR’s COVID-19 protocols require ASOR attendees to wear face masks in the conference meeting and exhibit space except when presenting, responding, or actively eating or drinking. Read more about this decision in a letter from ASOR’s President and Executive Director here.

Boston Highlights

The Harvard Art Museums will offer free admission to ASOR Annual Meeting attendees between November 15 – 23 (closed on Monday 11/21). Conference goers should stop at the Admissions desk (or the podium in the Courtyard) and show their ASOR Name Badge in order to get free admission. Information on current exhibits, hours, and location can be found online here.

The Harvard Museum of the Ancient Near East (HMANE) is hosting a private reception for ASOR Annual Meeting attendees on Saturday, November 19.  Attend one of two time options (7:15-8:15pm or 8:30-9:30pm EST) being offered in order to safely accommodate as many people as possible. Tickets are complimentary, however, space is limited and advanced registration is required. Learn more about the reception and reserve a complimentary ticket here.

The Museum of Fine Arts is offering free general admission to ASOR Annual Meeting attendees from November 16 – 23, 2022. Show your ASOR name badge at the admissions desk for free entrance. If you forgot your badge, you can self-identify as an attendee of the ASOR Annual Meeting and provide a business card/ID that shows you are affiliated with a museum or cultural institution. For information on opening hours, planning your trip, and special exhibits (additional fee may apply), please visit the MFA website.

Save at the Boston Park Plaza – ASOR Attendees receive a 10% discount at Off the Common restaurant and bar located in the hotel lobby, as well as a 10% discount on Top Golf at Lynx Fitness Club.
