Mesopotamian Fellowship Report: Ella Egberts
In 2025, Ella Egberts received an ASOR Mesopotamian Fellowship to continue archaeological research in the Iraqi Western Desert. During the field season, Ella and her team identified eight new Paleolithic sites in the Shbicha region, including stratified lithic remains that may help establish the first absolute chronological framework for Paleolithic material from the region.
