ASOR reopened in Jerusalem and published the first volume of the Bulletin of the American Schools of Oriental Research
(BASOR); an interdisciplinary English-language forum for scholars worldwide in subjects relating to the archaeology and history of the ancient Near Eastern world. The first Annual of the American Schools of Oriental Research and the second volume of BASOR were published that same year, a propitious beginning for the young school.
