Grade Level: 7th and 8th

Goal: The students will  gain an understanding of how an archaeological dig is conducted.

Objectives:   1. Learn vocabulary commonly used on a dig

                       2. Successfully fill out dig notebooks

                       3. Participation in a mock dig

                       4. To distinguish between different loci

Duration: Approximately four weeks

Materials:     See sample sheets as noted in plan.

Curricular Integration: Spelling, Social Studies, Science, Bible, and Language Arts
