Future Plans: MSc in Archaeological Information Systems

If someone had told me I would be driving around in a 4 wheel drive vehicle looking for archaeological sites, or digging up some of the first human artifacts, or discovering ancient battles, I would not have believed them. But that is what I do as an archaeological volunteer.

While surveying, my day is filled with crawling around caves and tombs, reading maps, looking at photos, walking the land, and having tea with hospitable locals. While excavating my day is filled with taking measurements and photographs, unearthing objects buried for thousands of years, daydreaming of the past, getting dirty and having fun.

As a volunteer I wouldn't have it any other way. I do things I once dreamt of doing. Everyday is an adventure. There is no telling what I will find or who I will meet.
