Other Information

I am an anthropologist by training, and my interests are in the development of early complex societies in the Near East, especially Egypt and the Southern Levant. I use GIS and spatial methods to study cycles of urbanism/ruralism, intensification/abatement, and heterarchy/hierarchy in this region. I have been teaching since 1993 as a Visiting Assistant Professor or Adjunct Assistant Professor, at several colleges/universities. I spent the 1997-1998 academic year at Eastern Mediterranean University, in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
