Kress Grant information and guidelines for section chairs:
Kress Foundation grant funding is available for the travel expenses of foreign scholars who will be presenting a paper on a topic associated with art or architecture. We are usually able to bring in four to five scholars a year with this grant. In previous years, Kress funded presenters who gave papers using depictions and images as evidence, discussed artistic styles in metalwork, examined the building phases of a particular site, and studied the villages and estates of a settlement system. If you would like us to add a presenter to the Kress grant proposal for this year, please write a statement with:
A list of all the papers in your sessions
The presenter's paper abstract
The contribution of the potential Kress grantee to your session
The art/architecture involved in the presenter's paper
His/her estimated travel costs (hotels and meals are not funded).
