Kress Grant Information and Guidelines for Session Chairs:
Funds are not available for the 2010 Annual Meeting.
Kress Foundation grant funding is available for the travel expenses of foreign scholars who will be presenting a paper on a topic associated with art or architecture. ASOR is usually able to grant four to five scholars an award each year. In previous years, Kress funded presenters gave papers using depictions and images as evidence, discussed artistic styles in metalwork, examined the building phases of a particular site, and studied the villages and estates of a settlement system. If you would like ASOR to add a presenter to the Kress grant proposal for this year, please write a statement with:
- A list of all the papers in your sessions
- The presenter's paper abstract
- The contribution of the potential Kress grantee to your session
- The art/architecture involved in the presenter's paper
- His/her estimated travel costs (hotels and meals are not funded).
Please email all information to the ASOR office (asorad@bu.edu). You will receive a confirmation email from Kelley Bazydlo within 48 hours of your submission.
