About ASOR Research?

This section of the website is currently under development. Some information is given below, but please check back a few weeks for updates.

ASOR supports research of the history and archaeology of the eastern Mediterranean through its publications, the annual meeting, scholarships and fellowships, the affiliated overseas research centers (ACOR, AIAR, and CAARI), and the committee on archaeological research and policy (CAP). Finally, ASOR has recently undertaken an archives project which will make the vast collection of materials in Boston available on the web and to scholars who wish to visit the ASOR headquarters.

The Committee on Archaeological Research and Policy also manages ASOR's Policy on Preservation of antiquities.

The Chair of CAP is currently Prof. Oystein S. LaBianca, who became Chair on January 1, 2009.

The Secretary of CAP is currently Prof. Benjamin Porter, who became Secretary on January 1, 2009.
