ASOR's Committee on Annual Meeting and Program (CAMP)

  


CAMP has as its primary responsibility the organization and coordination of our Annual Meeting held each November. The meeting lasts four days and typically features 200 academic papers and numerous business meetings for committees and Boards of ASOR and our overseas research centers.

CAMP also has several sub-committees which bring archaeological research to the public by sponsoring lectures and small regional conferences, and providing web resources for teachers and students. The links below provide more information on each of these committees.

Program
Organizes academic program for our Annual Meeting. Chair: Rachel Hallote (Purchase College)

Regional Associations
Maintains ties with regional societies of ASOR and affiliated organizations (AAR, SBL, AOS) and helps sponsor their annual meetings. Chair: Suzanne Richard (Gannon University)

Lecture Series
Helps sponsor lectures and debates on Near Eastern archaeology around the country. Chair: Ann Killebrew (Pennsylvania State University)

Honors and Awards
Handles nominations for and determines recipients of ASOR's honors and awards, given out each November. Chair: Martha Risser (Trinity College)

Outreach
Provides information on archaeology for teachers and students, including many links to related websites. Chair: Gloria London (Burke Museum)
