Lindstrom Foundation Student Service
Scholarship We are pleased to announce that the Lindstrom Foundation for Archaeological Research and Development will provide six Student Service Scholarships for transportation and hotel costs incurred while attending the 2006 Annual Meeting in Washington D.C.. Scholarships of $500 or more will be awarded. The deadline for applications is September 15th, 2006. Eligibility: Students must be members of ASOR (by Sept. 15) and may be either undergraduates or graduate students. The Scholarships require that recipients provide up to18 hours of service at the Annual Meeting, arranged to accommodate the sessions they would like to attend. Duties may involve assisting at the registration desk, helping Section Chairs with audio-visuals at program sessions, and aiding Program Committee members with other set-up and arrangement needs. Applying: Interested individuals should send a curriculum vitae and a letter of interest to the ASOR office that summarizes how they will benefit from attending the Meeting. A budget of projected expenses should be included. One letter of recommendation should also be forwarded to the ASOR Boston office at the address listed below. Applications will be accepted through September 15, 2006, and notification of decisions on grant awards will be made within two to four weeks. Foundation Annual Meeting Travel Scholarships Eligibility: These scholarships are restricted to graduate students who are American or Canadian permanent residents in PhD programs who have ABD ('all-but-dissertation') status. Preference is usually given to those presenting papers at the Meeting and who have not received a Dorot travel scholarship the previous year. Applying: Read the specific application guidelines. Applications will be accepted through September 15, 2006, and notification of decisions on grant awards will be made within two to four weeks after that date.
