Thursday, Novenber 15th, 12:30-2:00pm

Have you ever wondered how to effectively use PowerPoint, address a large audience, answer questions on the fly, get your ideas across to a general audience, or just conquer the raging butterflies that accompany the mere thought of presenting a paper in public? The Junior Scholar Committee of ASOR has the answer to these questions and many more. We invite you to a roundtable lunch on "Presenting the Perfect Paper" by Dr. Michael Homan of Xavier University. Dr. Homan, the author of The Bible for Dummies among other notable books, works as both an archaeologist and textual scholar. His witty personality ensures an entertaining lunch discussing the intricacies of paper presentations.

"Grab and Go" lunches will be provided but lunch and space are limited to the first 60 people registered. Please register now .

Details will soon be posted on the annual Junior Scholars infomal Meet and Greet. Check back for further updates!

Call for Submissions to Near Eastern Archaeology

Near Eastern Archaeology Magazine's Arti-Facts section is currently soliciting submissions for upcoming issues. Arti-Facts publishes brief articles that focus on new research or finds pertaining to Near Eastern Archaeology. Arti-Facts has also been reviewing museum exhibits traveling around North America. Arti-facts makes a particularly good venue for publishing the research of junior members. Recent conference or seminar papers, or excavation results that can be summarized in 1200 to 1500 words are particularly welcome. All time periods, countries, and materials relating to Near Eastern Archaeology are welcome.

For more about Near Eastern Archaeology Magazine, please visit http://www.asor.org/pubs/nea/index.html. I hope you will seriously consider this invitation to submit your writing. All questions and submissions should be directed to Benjamin Porter, Near Eastern Archaeology Magazine's assistant editor, at bporter@sas.upenn.edu.
